GriffinSports Baseball Rules
The age cutoff date in all age divisions is May 1st. For example, in the 16 and under division, no player can be 17 before May 1st. Each coach, if challenged, must show proof of his players age.
We will play by American League rules with the following exceptions
- 15 run rule after three Innings.
- 10 run rule after 4 Innings.
- 8 run rule after 5 Innings.
- No malicious contact.
- Force play slide rule is in effect.
- Each team may bat 10 players by using an additional hitter (AH).
- Teams may use a DH and an AH.
- High school bat limitations.
In pool play, the home team will be determined by coin flip. When teams are seeded the higher seed will be the home team.
Courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher at anytime. Cannot be someone currently in the game… Same Runner cannot be used twice in the same inning.
Players are expected to hustle on and off the field. In pool play, no new inning may start after seven innings, or, two hours after the first pitch.
If the game is tied after seven Innings, we will use the Griffin Shootout. With no outs the last two batted outs from the previous ending will start the Inning on first and second base , the last out on first, each hitter will start with a 3-2 count.
Tiebreaking procedure.
- Head-to-head.
- Runs allowed.
- Coin flip.
All on-field discrepancies will be handled by the Umpire in Chief. If there is still a doubt, then the tournament director will make the final call, there will be no protest!
Weather refund policy.
- No games played, full refund.
- One game played, half refund.
- Two games played no refund.
No profanity or unsportsmanlike behavior will be tolerated.
