Mental Resilience
Hitting is very much a mental game. Mental resilience is another essential quality in becoming a “good hitter”. Sometimes you can get out of your rhythm easily and need a way to regain your focus and calm while in the batter’s box. Players, I would strongly recommend you develop a routine that helps you focus on the ball and block everything else out. Try any of these strategies,
- Stepping out of the batter’s box
- Deep breathing
- Repeating a positive word or phrase
- Visualizing the perfect hit
- Creating tunnel vision on the pitcher
Regardless of what you choose, you should have a routine that helps you get “Your Head”, back into the game.
