We at GriffinSports believe that every child deserves to be a champion! There will be winners and losers on the playing field, but through Christ’s love, we are all victorious! That is our overall mission, to share the good news of Christ to each athlete that comes into our program.
Meet the GriffinSports Team
Our founder, Clarence Griffin, has 35 years experience coaching and training youth athletes in the Cleveland area. He has coached these sports at both the high school and collegiate level. He has umpired professional baseball as well as organized many sporting events and tournaments throughout the years. Clarence’s dedication to sports and character development for our youth drives the GriffinSports movement into the future.
Alongside Clarence and his wife, Renee, they are joined by Clarence’s mother, Shirley Griffin. Shirley has experience with event planning and management. Her invaluable interpersonal skills and warm greetings allow GriffinSports tournaments to be a huge success!
Also known as CJ, is the oldest boy of the Griffin family who holds responsibility as mentor and coach for the GriffinSports team. A multi-sport athlete at Lutheran High School West, and collegiate baseball student-athlete graduate from Baldwin Wallace University, CJ brings an innovative method of learning and experience for GriffinSports athletes. CJ is a Health and Physical Education teacher at North Royalton Middle School. He is also coaches 7th grade football, 7th grade girls basketball, and JV Baseball at North Royalton High School.
